Any grant will support veterans who need help with improving their lives at a difficult time or in challenging circumstances.
Our aim is to provide financial and emotional support to local veterans and their dependants, being there for them in their time of need.
Would like to make cosmetic repairs and update the security of our hall so it it is a viable premises to hire, enabling us to fundraise.
Remembrance Concert 25 Jun 2004
The South Lancashire Holding Branch of the Royal British Legion have been granted an award to enable them to host their Northern Remembrance Concert. This will be held at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. There will be a range of guests and performances.
The 40's evening & Veteran's Lunch 02 Jul 2004
This registered charity would use an award to organise two complementary events. The first one is a 1940's night (in the Dymchurch RBL club) for all ages, including children, where the club will be decorated (& blacked out) in 1940's style. There will also be entertainment appropriate to the era. The other event is a formal lunch for WW2 veterans and their partners. This would be open to all veterans, whether or not RBL members.
Grand Parade and Church Service 28 Apr 2005
The Castle Acre & District Branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a grand parade and church service to commemorate the 60th anniversary, and a commemoration lunch. The group will be producing a booklet outlining the impact of WW2 on their group's history, this will be distributed to the general public.
Bisley, Knaphill & West End Exhibition Day 28 Apr 2005
The Bisley, Knaphill and West End branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WW2 by hiring a local venue and holding a programme of events which will include an exhibition, a video room, and a commemoration meal.
Stowmarket VE/VJ Day Celebrations 28 Apr 2005
The group will use a grant to organise a day of events to both celebrate and commemorate the 60th Anniversary of VE/VJ Day. This will include a parade and Church service featuring a number of local organisations. This will all be concluded with a large-scale curry lunch for veterans and other attendees.

The North Ferriby branch of the Royal British have been awarded a grant to carry out 2 parades in commemoration of VE and VJ Day.
Exhibition and Celebration Events 29 Apr 2005
The Royal British Legion Halton branch have been awarded a grant to carry out a VE and VJ day celebration. The group will have war time entertainment and an exhibition of memorabilia.
The Hordle branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a service and celebration to mark the 60th anniversary of the Second World War. This event will involve all members of the local community.
VE Day Parade Celebration 14 Apr 2005
The Kings Lynn branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a V.E. Day and V.J. Day commemoration event to mark the 60th anniversary of these significant events. This will include a Veterans parade, and Memorial service which will include Naval, Army and Air Cadets.
Ceremony and Service 15 Apr 2005
The Formby Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to provide them with refreshments for their VE and VJ day memorial services. In addition to this they will also use their award to have a community concert where refreshments will also be provided.
Commemorative VE and VJ Day Celebration 15 Apr 2005
The Laceby and District Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to allow them to carry out a remembrance parade which will be followed by a buffet. They will also carry out a celebratory dance with music and entertainment of the era.
The Royal British Legion Cheshire have been awarded a grant that will enable them to organise a special Cathedral Service in Chester in commemoration of the ending of World War two. This will be followed by a parade through the city and where a number of events/displays will take place. The event is open to the whole community and will be attended by WW2 veterans and local schools.

The Heywood Branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a V.E./V.J. Day celebration event, this will include a parade, and displays. The event will be open to the local community.
The Oxfordshire branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a WW2 commemoration event that will involve a cathedral service, and standard parade. A tea party will follow the event where the 'We'll Meet Again' exhibition will be displayed.
