This project will support people with mental health issues and learning disabilities across Bristol, Bath and North and North East Somerset through exploring and taking care of nature. It will provide a structured programme of outdoor activities, such as community allotment work, park clean ups, tree planting, nature walks, food growing and outdoor cooking. This will give people access to natural environments, and help them gain skills, build confidence, improve well-being and lead healthier lives.
The group will use the funding to recruit and train volunteer Girl Guide leaders. This will allow the organisation to reach a greater number of beneficiaries, improving their life skills, wellbeing and encouraging community inclusion.
Culture, Identity and Inclusion 25 Feb 2016
The group will use the funding to celebrate the lives and contributions of refugee and asylum seekers through cultural exchange workshops and cultural feasts for people, particularly from Kurdish, Roma, Colombian and Somali backgrounds. This will bring people together in cultural celebrations, increase understanding and reduce isolation.
