A project to support children, young people aged 10-17, and parents with experience of domestic violence. The project will include one to one intensive counselling and group sessions covering a variety of topics such as communication skills, coping skills, exploring controlling behaviours and personal support networks. The project aims to reach 240 beneficiaries.
GLinc/3/4 - Steps Forward 22 Sep 2016
This grant will be used to develop plans for a project that will support 120 unemployed people across the Great Lincolnshire LEP area. The project will offer a tailored development programme focusing on improving participantâ€™s mental health and wellbeing with the aim of moving them towards employment, education or training.
Family Support Volunteers 01 Aug 2016
This project will support parents and children in deprived areas of Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire to develop confidence in their parenting skill, it also aims to reduce isolation. Families described as â€˜just copingâ€™ will be matched with a local volunteer parent who will use their own experience and skills to support the participant parents through challenging times.This project takes an early intervention approach, resulting in reduced risk of crisis and need for statutory intervention.

Community Celebration 08 Dec 2016
Action for Children will hold a community and family fun day to celebrate the 4 year anniversary of the Monmouthshire Parent Network and its achievements within the community. This grant for Â£1,720 will fund venue hire costs, food, DJ, bouncy castle, character/face painting and messy play.
Funding will be used to celebrate the organisationâ€™s relocation to its own, new building on the grounds of the local school â€“ a move that has been 30 years in the making. The event will enable the organisation to bring together the families they have worked with in the past, as well as families they currently work with, alongside members of the community who have given their time and expertise to the project.
Parenting Special Children Plus (PSC+) 04 May 2016
The group will expand its current work providing specialist services to parents and carers of disabled children and young people. Families of looked after or adoptive families, who the group has identified as needing extra support, will be offered workshops and courses focused on understanding trauma and improving attachment. These will include talks from experienced practitioners and support with issues like childrenâ€™s emotional development, sleeping habits and how to navigate the education system.
Believe and Achieve 14 Dec 2016
This project will provide social inclusion and educational support to black, Asian and minority ethnic children and young people with additional needs, supporting their development and preventing long-term isolation. It will specifically target learning disabled boys aged 3-13 years old in Charedi Independent Schools (Jewish Orthodox) and their families.
Adventure Residential 27 Jan 2016
The group will use the funding to deliver a recreational break for children with hearing impairments who are experiencing the effects of isolation. This will improve their confidence and independence in a fun, safe and friendly environment.
