Volunteers Week Celebrations 23 May 2005

Volunteer Britain 14 Jul 2005

Community Service Volunteers (CSV) works to reconnect people to their community through volunteering and training and to enrich people?s lives. This project will produce short audio and visual clips on volunteer's experiences, produced by the volunteers themselves. CSV will showcase the clips in order to recognise their efforts and promote volunteering to others, through radio, TV and at local community events. This will be done in conjunction with the 'Year of the Volunteer' campaign.

This volunteer bureau will establish several fora for existing volunteers and those interested in volunteering. A large proportion of those involved in volunteering have been previously isolated by virtue of being either unemployed, newly arrived in the UK or having mental health issues. This project will offer training and information as well as an opportunity for networking with other volunteers. This in turn will enable them to grow in confidence and enhance the skills they use in their volunteer work.

This project will develop the opportunities and support organisations using volunteers to gain the Investing in Volunteers accreditation. They will help build the capacity of small groups to manage volunteers, leading to a greater supply of higher quality opportunities for volunteers in the local community.

Consortium - Support for volunteers 14 Jul 2004

Lowestoft Volunteer Bureau will join Halesworth Volunteer Centre and Southwold Voluntary Help Centre to develop the role of volunteering in Waveney, especially the rural areas. The three year grant will be used for the salaries of the project manager, three part-time administrators and a full-time volunteer co-ordinator, and also for running costs and training for staff and volunteers.

The WAVE Project (Wider Access to Volunteering for Everyone) 12 Oct 2011

This project will enable those with mental health issues and learning or physical disabilities to access volunteering opportunities to reduce their isolation and increase their confidence. Training courses will increase skills and confidence and volunteer managers from local organisations will be supported to work with volunteers. The project will also establish a database of ad-hoc volunteers and opportunities, and provide a matching service for prospective volunteers and voluntary organisations.
