Volunteering Taster Sessions 23 Feb 2007
Volunteer Centre Midlothian's project will raise young people's confidence, independence, team building skills and sense of worth. Funded through the Big Lottery Fund's 'Young People's Fund' and delivered in Midlothian the project will provide volunteering opportunities for young people. These volunteering opportunities will range from single day placements to 12 week 'Volunteering Taster Sessions'.
This project promotes social integration, independence and skills development by supporting excluded groups into volunteering with help from a volunteer mentor. The project will be based in Sunderland and will also cover the outlying areas of Houghton, Hetton and Washington. A personal development plan will be drawn up to allow the beneficiary to identify aims and objectives to achieve through their volunteer placement.
Uttlesford Volunteer Bureau 02 Nov 2006
The Volunteer Centre seeks to build on its success of the past five years (as Uttlesford Volunteer Bureau) by continuing its work in recruiting volunteers for voluntary organisations. The one year grant will fund the existing post of a Manager(15hrs), Deputy Manager (13hrs) which includes an increase of three hours, Administrative Officer (20hrs), running expenses, producing information, training and travel for staff and volunteers.
This project will employ two development workers to work closely and develop relationships with local voluntary organisations in Sunderland. It aims to increase volunteer numbers, maintain up to date information on volunteering opportunities, and share good practice amongst volunteer involving organisations. The project will also facilitate and maintain the local Volunteer Forum, which provides members with advice and training.
Lambeth Volunteer Centre 05 Dec 2007
This project will develop volunteer infrastructure in Lambeth, improving the quality and increasing the quantity of volunteering. The project will establish a volunteer centre, which will meet six core functions; matching and referring volunteers to volunteer involving organisations, marketing volunteering, developing good practice among volunteer involving organisations, developing volunteering opportunities, policy response campaigning, and strategic development of volunteering.

This is a new project to employ a volunteer co-ordinator to manage and support existing volunteers at the Kidz R Us theatre group and encourage more volunteering by local people. The role of the volunteer co-ordinator will be to develop the organisation's volunteer policy, recruit new volunteers, identify and develop training programmes for volunteers and strengthen community involvement by creating opportunities for those who have not previously engaged in volunteering.

Supported Volunteering Project (SVP) 05 Dec 2007
This project will build Sandwell Voluntary Bureau's (SVB) capacity to provide the extra support required by volunteers with mental health issues and their placement organisations. The project will enable SVB to provide intensive support to volunteering by identifying appropriate placements in conjunction with the potential volunteer, and undertaking the necessary liaison with the host organisation.

This is a project by a voluntary organisation in Burnley. The organisation will use funding to offer volunteer training qualifications including first aid and child protection and recognise volunteers hard work with an award event. A volunteer project to support the organisation's existing team of twenty volunteers and recruit a further thirty volunteers over the life of the grant. Volunteers support the organisation in most areas of its work including administration duties and practical support for service users.
