This arts centre will create a green space within the retail centre of Cwmbran for the general public. Trees will be replaced and the pond area redeveloped. Educational activities fort families, young people and those suffering mental health problems will be run in the space when it is complete.

With a Lottery award the group will install a lift, which will help older and disabled members to access the first floor meeting rooms and participate fully in the activities of the arts centre. There are several members at present who are unable to use the stairs and the Arts Centre are keen to ensure access is available to everyone.
This is a project by a registered charity in Reading. The group will use funding to install a fire alarm and refurbish the Rising Sun Arts Centre. This will ensure the centre meets with fire safety standards and enable the building to continue being used as a meeting venue by local community groups.
