Recipient Org: Description Catalyst (Previously known as SADAS - Surrey Alcohol and Drug Advisory Services) offers drug and alcohol users across Surrey who want to change their lives, access to support, reducing the harm to themselves, their families and communities. Counselling for those struggling with substance use issues is provided through the 'Reach Out' programme to address the wider factors that affect health and wellbeing. Through 'The Welcome Project' Catalyst offers support, guidance and activities to increase wellbeing for people affected by stress, anxiety and depression, and who may feel isolated. Catalyst also works with those at risk of losing a tenancy and who have complex needs including mental health problems. Catalyst is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Its head office is based in Guildford, but the charity also has offices in Surrey Heath and Godalming. The Charity was established in 1998 and currently employs 27 full-time staff and 24 part-time staff, It is governed by a Management Committee of 8 and there are 50 volunteers who support Catalyst in its work.
