Recipient Org: Description 261 Guildford Squadron Air Training Corps is a squadron of the national Air Cadet Organisation's Air Training Corps. The ATC is the RAF's cadet force, divided into six regions, 36 wings and more than 900 squadrons within communities around the UK. The Training Corps seek to provide an environment in which young people are encouraged to take practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force in addition to providing training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life, encouraging a spirit of adventure and developing qualities of leadership and good citizenship. The core values of the ACO are respect, integrity, service and excellence. _x000D_ The squadron is open to all young people aged 13-20 years old in the Guildford area. The squadron is the only Air Training Corps within Guildford, with the nearest neighbours being Farnham and Godalming. The squadron meet every Tuesday and Friday as well as regularly meeting at the weekends. The squadron run a huge range of adventurous and challenging activities from powered flying and gliding through to sports, parades, shooting, adventure training camps in the UK and overseas. _x000D_ The group is run by a management committee of 5 members, who are supported by 8 highly committed volunteers.
