Recipient Org: Description | Fegans is based in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. It is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The charity receives referrals from sources including CAMHS, GP’s and Schools. Fegans counsels children and provides parent support, intervention and training. Fegans fully qualified counselling teams work both in schools and in the charity’s own offices with children from 4 to 18 and their families. The charity delivers counselling to children who are suffering from abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, and depression, and self-harm amongst many other issues. Services offered include individual counselling, play therapy, and family therapy. Fegans’ counsellors come from a variety of backgrounds; humanistic, psycho-dynamic, integrative and systemic’, and all are registered with the BACP and abide by its ethical framework. Intervention programs include home visits, schools, and parenting cafes. Fegans also recruits, trains and manages a team of volunteer support workers - parents who have come through the programmes which Fegans has delivered. The charity employs 4 full-time staff, and 87 part-time staff. It is supported by 20 volunteers and has 7 Trustees. Fegans is already well established in Kent, Sussex & Lambeth and is keen to expand its support work in Surrey. The Fegans Surrey Area Manager has established good links and a base for the counselling team. |
