Recipient Org: Description | Catalyst (Previously known as SADAS - Surrey Alcohol and Drug Advisory Services) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. It offers drug and alcohol users across Surrey access to support, thus reducing the harm to themselves, their families, and communities. Counselling for those struggling with substance use issues is provided through the ‘Reach Out’ programme. In addition, the charity’s ‘Welcome Project’ offers support, guidance and activities to increase wellbeing for people affected by stress, anxiety and depression, and who may feel isolated. The Welcome Project is part of Community Connections mental and emotional wellbeing services for working-age adults in Surrey. Catalyst also works with those at risk of losing a tenancy and who have complex needs including mental health problems. The head office is based in Guildford, but the charity also has offices in Surrey Heath and Godalming. Catalyst works with all partner agencies from within the health sector in a drop-in, counselling, group and outreach format. Approximately 5000 people are supported per year. The Charity was established in 1998 and is governed by 8 Trustees. |
