Recipient Org: Description | MGSO4 is a CIO with the objective of developing, promoting and delivering inclusive arts activities and events in Epsom & Ewell, for the benefit of the whole community. This includes an arts festival and programme of outreach arts activities aimed at vulnerable and disadvantaged groups. A festival was held in 2016 and is planned for 2018. The name was inspired by MgSO4, (magnesium sulphate) the chemical formula for Epsom Salts, that made the town famous almost 400 years ago. The charity's vision is to restore the arts to their position as a driving force in the community, showcase talent, inspiring the next generation, generate new ideas, entertain audiences, represent creative people, and unite the community. MGSO4 now works with Epsom & Ewell community groups and residents, including The Sunnybank Trust, Brickfield Arts, and My time for Young Carers, and residents of dementia homes and sheltered housing schemes. MGSO4 has 7 Trustees, and around 30 volunteers. The CIO employs freelance staff. |
