Recipient Org: Description | Chrishall is situated in the Uttlesford district of north west Essex. The Village Hall Committee manages the village hall based on a Constitution and Management Agreement agreed with Chrishall Parish Council (the 9 Members mentioned above.) The village hall is the former Methodist Chapel and Hall, which were bought by the Parish Council in June 2014 and were in need of urgent renovation. The halls were purchased to replace the old village hall which was far from ideal, being adjacent to the primary school and generally unavailable during school hours. It is now used by the pre-school only. Since the purchase, the Committee has undertaken considerable renovation of the former Methodist premises, funded by grants and local fundraising. The Committee hires the village hall out to a wide range of community groups and private individuals. We are also pleased to accommodate on the premises the multi denominational church office. The Committee aims to make the village hall an attractive and comfortable location at the centre of village life and accessible to all village residents and other hirers who may wish to use it. |
