Recipient Org: Description Witham BB has provided age - targeted youth work, in the Witham area, since 1972. Whilst we are a local large youth group, we also undertake community development in the town, offering family cycle and activity days, school holiday programmes, sports, and community work for the Town Council from time to time. We operate a totally inclusive programme, and 50% of our membership have special needs or disability. The age groups are: 5-7 years., 8 - 11 years, and 11 upwards with no upper limit. Our leadership programme includes The Queen's Badge and Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme. Young people both girls and boys, are encouraged to take part in leadership activities, supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation, in achievement. We have a programme of overnights, weekends and week long camps in this country, plus relationships with those of kindred BB groups in Denmark, Canada and the USA. We reciprocate most years on visits. We specialise in encouraging - fun, faith, friendship and fulness of life. Most of our activities are in Witham, where we own an industrial unit for dirty jobs, a powerboat, and 18 acres of land in north Essex, slowing being turned into an activity centre.
