Recipient Org: Description SOS Rape Crisis is a charity providing specialised, confidential and non-judgmental support for survivors of any for of sexual violence, sexual assault or sexual abuse. The aims and objectives of the organisation are: *Relieve the sickness and distress of survivors who have suffered any form of sexual violence. *promote education and research in the subject of rape and its effects on survivors whether physical, medical, psychological or social. *encourage staff and volunteers to continuously train and develop to enhance well being of survivors. *obtain help and support where needed through close contact with government authorities, health services and voluntary organisations. *publish educative and informative material about rape. Activities: *Support and ISVA services providing practical support as well as guidance and support through the criminal justice system for all ages including young children/people and their families. *Counselling and therapeutic services for all ages including dedicated support groups for young girls who have suffered similar experiences. *Southend WAVE supporting women and girls exploited into sex industry or prostitution. *Schools awareness programme. *Alternative support groups ie: creative arts, empowerment. *Raise money for the purpose of the charity on such terms and on such security as may be thought fit. *Accept donations and legacies.
