Recipient Org: Description | SECH is a groups of people from a variety of backgrounds that have come together to support people in their local community, the group formed in 2015 with just a year there have been many successes to be proud of. Working with a variety of services we have had over 5000 people accessing our services last year, helping mostly people in accessing computer, filling application forms and supporting them while they apply to benefits, do job searches and other computer related necessities. With over half of the population in Southend not owning or having access to internet or computer the HUB is here to access both for free and support people while they can also learn thus becoming more independent. The group has a strong vision of the work that is needed and our statement is created from that vision. To develop the knowledge and digital skills of members of communities throughout South Essex working in partnership with other community groups to provide a range of support services. To provide advice and support for people suffering mental health problems throughout South Essex working in partnership with other community groups to provide a range of support services. To work in partnership with other community groups to provide advice and support on the management of debt and , helping people livening in communities throughout South Essex to improve their financial capability so they can better manage their money. To provide support and access to language translation services to people who do not have English as their first language throughout South Essex using digital technology to assist and support them. To work in partnership with other community groups and assist community engagement throughout South Essex and to support activities and projects that promote this goal and help improve community cohesion. Working in partnership with a variety of organizations people that access the HUB can get support in all areas and often there is cross referrals to the relevant organizations so they get the support they need for the long term. SECH is growing in a number of locations to support the needs of residents across the borough making those services accessible to all. |
