Recipient Org: Description The committee organised and oversaw the purchase of the Pub as an asset of Community value after an application by the previous owners for residential use was withdrawn. The Pub will be run on the more than a pub basis ie providing a focal point for the villages of Lamarsh and Alphamstone, offering teas and coffee during the day, a venue for everyone to meet especially the old and lonely. We will offer a pick-up and drop off point for couriers and re-establish a recycle point. Events will be run to encourage local participation as well as the normal food and drink that a Pub is expected to serve. Where posssible and practicable we will also support local businesses. Having moved in it is evident that the pub is in urgent need of major refurbishment before it can open and our focus is now on getting all this done, including rewiring, new flooring, major plumbing works, roofing, carpentry work throughout, a new kitchen, work to the lavatories etc. This application is for a grant to cover the essential plumbing work.
