Recipient Org: Description | Chelmsford Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) works to support, promote and develop local voluntary action to improve the effectiveness of voluntary and community activity in Chelmsford. Based at the Centre Supporting Voluntary Action we host small community projects, such as the Supported Volunteer Craft Group and run a busy Volunteering Centre. Last year the CVS worked directly with 317 different charities, voluntary and community groups and with 8 local strategic partners. Types of groups range from small entirely voluntary up to large multi-million-pound charities such as Farleigh. We support small group development in many different ways including constitutions, policies, becoming fit for grant funding, improving branding and marketing, finding funding. We also act as a central point for information cascade sending out weekly e-bulletins, information, facilitating forums, and delivering major events to bring together strategic influencers and the local voluntary sector. |
