Recipient Org: Description CAVS was founded 25 years ago as a non for profit charity. CAVS provide support and services to our community and those most in need and vulnerable in our society. (Age range from pre birth to 104) CAVS' core service is the provision of support and promotion for the voluntary action and has a membership of over 350 local groups. The range of services include advice/guidance around structure, governance and finance. We provide up to date bulletins of local news, activity, events and networking opportunities, as well as hosting several annual community partnership events. CAVS operates a number of Schemes, vital for the local community and surrounding areas including: Befriending - 1,000 volunteers matched with isolated and lonely people since inception. Ways to Wellness - 1,500 people in the past three years supported, providing advice and guidance and signposting to appropriate services. Family Mentoring - Supporting families on a one to one basis who are vulnerable and often in distress. Reablement - This service has assisted 370 people in three years who wish to remain in their home having returned from long term care in hospital. Essex Children and Young Peoples Service - Supporting young people to make positive lifestyle choices.
