Recipient Org: Description The Organisation was set up to organise holidays each year for people who suffer with Dementia and their husbands/wives or others who provide significant care. Caring for someone with Dementia is a lonely and tiring task. Couples have frequently told us that it becomes increasingly difficult for them to enjoy a holiday together. It is for this reason, Cherish began to organise short break holidays to enable people with dementia and their carers to get away together whilst the travel and accommodation responsibilities are taken care of. It is hoped that friendships will be made, giving ongoing support on their return home and that particularly carers can share their experiences with others in a similar situation.
