Promote environmental improvement & conservation by working in partnership with similar groups/organisations. Invite & receive contributions & raise funds where appropriate to finance the work of the group. Publicise & promote the work of the group, organise meetings, training courses, events and seminars. Work with groups of a similar nature /exchange information, advice & knowledge -cooperation with other voluntary bodies, charities, statutory & non statutory organisations. We provide a day service activity which provides an opportunity for elders to come together and share in a social activity. Many of the elders live alone and might not have the opportunity to socialise without the group. We provide a range of activities dependant on the needs and wishes of the members’; we arrange day trips out to the seaside /places of interest. We also arrange information sessions advising of crime prevention, safety in the home; healthy eating as well as keeping fit- with extend and exercise. We celebrate events such as birthdays, older people’s day, black history month and Christmas. For some elders this might be the only opportunity to go out, meet others and engage in activities that they might not have the opportunity to engage in.
