We are affiliated to, but entirely separate from YMCA England, being responsible for generating our own funds. We are very proud of our youth work origins, YMCA being the first ever youth organisation, founded in 1844. 173yrs later our organisation still embodies its original principles of putting young people at the heart of everything we do. We believe in the empowerment, education, participation, equality of opportunity for all young people. Our mission is to encourage and inspire children & young people (aged 0-30 years) to reach their true potential. Each year we support over 1000 beneficiaries & our work spans 5 key areas: Disability, Young Carers, Housing, Youth Work & Children & Families.YMCA Sutton Coldfield has 117yrs experience of delivering services for disadvantaged young people in North Birmingham, & we are viewed as experts in our field. We have ensured trusted, respectful relationships with local young people/ community, established working relationships with partners and local community knowledge through delivery of youth & playwork in Kingstanding. |
