Recipient Org: Description | We support children with additional needs and disabilities in accessing a sensory leisure facility that is otherwise inaccessible. We have a mobile sensory unit that houses an array of sensory items that are not only enjoyable for the children but are having a therapeutic effect and increasing skills such as relaxation, stimulation, communication, interaction and bonding to name a few. Our tagline is “A Place where Square Pegs Fit in” our goal is that every child should be able to access appropriate play despite their physical or mental state and that we want to contribute towards their general wellbeing. The benefits of sensory play are also beneficial to siblings and parents and so the whole family dynamic is improved. |
