Recipient Org: Description | The Avenues Community Association was set up in 1996 and is a voluntary charity, we raise funds to enable us to organise activities at a low affordable cost to all young people given them the same opportunities. We have run a variety of projects for young people aged 5 to 16. Projects we have organised in the past and at present Canoeing, Abseiling, Residential Weekends, Educational trips to London History Museum, Science Museum, Conkers, Barging Weekends, Nature projects, Outdoor pursuits. At present we run Dance and drama, singing, Music Piano/keyboard session, Guitar sessions, drum session we encourage 2nd year performing students to run dance, drama, singing under the guidance of Trustees, Youth Leader and Youth Worker. Music is taught by professional music teacher with other music students everyone who works or volunteers for our charity are CRB/DBS checked, we also five Fire Alarm training by one of our Trustee who is Qualified Health & Safety and Fire Marshal, all our trustees, volunteers and people we employ are given copies of our Child Protection Policy and Risk Assessments which are done every week before the projects start. |
