Recipient Org: Description Access in Dudley is a not-for-profit, disabled peoples' user led charity. We are all volunteers. We work towards making the built environment including buildings, parks and open spaces, facilities, services, transport and information more accessible to disabled people. We passionately believe that people with disabilities should be able to led a full and active life in our local community and we work to remove the barriers that prevent this. We do this by working with the local authority, local organisations and companies, transport companies and the public to improve access. Our activities include providing access audits and advice, disability awareness training, provision of information in alternative formats including graphic facilitation, taking part in relevant consultations and sitting on several other bodies including the Local Access Forum and the Council's Disability Consultation Group. We also network with other disability groups and work in partnership with a learning disability charity - Dudley Voices for Choice. We also promote social inclusion and health and well-being by working with Dudley Rowing Club to provide an introduction to rowing. We work to raise awareness in all matters relating to people with disabilities.
