Recipient Org: Description Aim: To meet the needs of the most disadvantaged members of the Kingstanding community and to help to bring about social cohesion Objectives * Reduce the isolation of older people & promote their independence, health & well-being * Work with younger people, supporting development needs and raising their aspirations * Work alongside families, particularly lone parents, helping them to face the challenges of family life * Support those who are ill or have a disability & their carers and address the consequences of their health and disability issues * Address issues of poverty and debt in the local community To meet the charity’s objectives we deliver services including: • Domestic Abuse Counselling Service • Advice & Advocacy Service on Welfare, Disability, Housing & Employment • ‘Community Café’ – including opportunities for volunteers to gain accredited qualifications • Advice Service for Older People (Age UK) • Luncheon Club, Reminiscence Groups, Silver Surfers & Tai Chi; • Community Meals; • Playgroups; • Education Support (Home Tutored & Saturday groups); • Scout Groups • Running Groups / Fitness Group / Indoor Walking Football / Indoor Sport Based activities • Work-Choice – access to employment • 'Imagine' Mental Health Support Group
