Recipient Org: Description The Silver Lining Project has been formed to enable and support older people after the long standing Day Centre was closed in October 2014 after 30 years. This has impacted greatly on the older adults in the community. Due to the changing needs of over 50’s in our multi-cultural neighbourhood we are constantly changing what we are offering to older adults. We now offer various centre-based activities to enable over 50’s to participate in by attending these and helping within the activities, rather than provide services for older adults. These focus on well being, enabling and promoting independence. The constant changing funding climate and social care and heath context means that community and neighbours will be encouraged to help one another, in the hope that people will have significant relationships with their neighbours and community as they grow older. We achieve our aims through inclusion and involvement in activities.
