Recipient Org: Description | We are a Local Ecumenical Partnership between the Church of England and the United Reformed Church. Our principal objects are to preach the word of God and to serve our local community of whatever racial or religious background. The Church Hall is now also functioning as the Church building and is well-used for community use. Existing activities include the Boys’ Brigade & Girls Association, Weekly Tea-dances for the elderly, involvement with Soho Community First, a local authority programme, the Community Garden, which involves local residents and schools in growing produce and, through Cook & Taste, teaching people how to prepare food from fresh produce. We are also heavily involved in Winson Green in Bloom and won a major award last year. |
