Grant to Bristol Refugee Rights (360G-LBFEW-119308)

The VOICE course brings together people with lived experience of the asylum process in the UK, and volunteers who have experience in developing skills in public speaking and use of voice. After training, participants are able to articulate in English the challenges and injustices they have faced, in order to educate and influence policy makers and practitioners. This grant supports one day per week of a project coordinator’s time to enable the VOICE course to continue for a further year, enabling them to take advantage of opportunities to influence the agenda in Bristol so that refugees and asylum seekers are welcomed and provided with opportunities to integrate in the city.
