Recipient Org: Description We are an inclusive, beneficiary-led organisation aiming at a city and surrounds in which people with additional needs (including physical and learning disabilities, and special needs) have equal opportunities to their peers, with a focus on access to inclusive social, recreational, and physical/sporting activities. We want more such opportunities, more of the infrastructure (both physical and non-physical) needed to support access to them, and more inclusive attitudes towards additional needs within the wider community. There is around a 50-50 split between people with and without additional needs among our participants, and we offer something for everyone. Our services include: Delivering a programme of regular social, recreational and physical/sporting sessions and projects Supporting other organisations to become more inclusive Opportunities to participate fully in the work of KEEN in positions of leadership and responsibility Combating loneliness and isolation has always been a key goal of our work, with significant success. The 10 key outcomes we measure for beneficiaries include 7 directly linked to loneliness and isolation. We understand the issues for our target beneficiaries via consultation in the community and research by other bodies including OCF, and we believe that a collaborative approach is essential to solving them.
