The Mill Arts Centre (360G-OCF-A502654)

The significant majority (68%) of our fixed overhead costs are made up of permanent staff salaries (£244,391) for which we are seeking support. In particular a significant proportion of this time is allocated to the development and running of audience engagement projects, as well as identifying new partnerships and groups to work with in order to extend our reach into those sections of the community that might otherwise not be culturally engaged.

Recipient Org: Description The Mill Arts Centre is a small multi-art form venue with big ambitions. It is central to and the focus of cultural life in Banbury as the only public arts and performance venue in the Cherwell District. We use our resources to provide a varied, high quality artistic programme to inspire, encourage learning and creativity, engage and entertain our audiences. Our 237-seat theatre plays host to theatre, dance, comedy and music events which run alongside a packed creative learning and participation programme with a focus on visual and performing arts. Our growing community engagement programme Beyond the Mill aims to forge connections with young people, children and older audiences by delivering activities in community settings often working in partnership with specialist agencies. Our main objectives are to: • Cultivate an inspiring and safe space to learn and create with support from highly skilled staff and artists • Provide a place to escape and be entertained by some of the country’s leading artists and companies • Welcome audiences from all of our communities and bring them together to share experiences and celebrate achievements
