Recipient Org: Description St Peters plays a unique role in Bristol, as the only adult hospice caring for patients at the end of their lives. We cover Bristol, South Gloucestershire and parts of North Somerset, an area of 1.1 million people. Last year, we cared for 2,009 patients. The great majority (nearly 90%) have a diagnosis of cancer. We also support patients families and carers, over 6000 per year, for as long as they need. Each of our patients has a different diagnosis and different needs, so their palliative care is tailored to them. As well as Hospice at Home, our services include a Day Hospice, Community Nursing and an In-Patient Unit. Our services are always shaped by what our patients and their families tell us about whats important to them. They open to anyone over the age of 18, and there is no upper age limit to the people we care for.
