Recipient Org: Description Sporting Family Change works with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable families across Bath and North East Somerset, many of whom fall into the category of Troubled Families_x009d_ as defined by The Government. One of our core business areas is to provide activities which give families health opportunities through physical education (H.O.P.E). We use sport to empower, inspire, and motivate these families into making positive long-term lifestyle changes as well as building family resilience, helping them to reach their potential and move forward in their lives. Demand for our support is growing locally as many services support the parent or child separately, but very few offer whole family support to bring about sustainable change. Other core business includes providing mentoring, initiated through educational settings for emotionally and behaviourally challenged children and young people, leading to whole family mentoring. We also provide social activities and sporting opportunities for local young adults with learning difficulties as well as physical disabilities and long term medical conditions.
