Our re-development is regarded as one of the finest examples of urban regeneration driven by culture. Since 2011, TFT has run a dedicated educational programme for children and young people that complements our artistic work. Including talks to schools and a hugely popular annual summer school. The programme addresses issues affecting local young people such as unemployment, anti-social behaviour and crime through artistic engagement and aims to inspire a passion for the arts. This work has seen huge successes, our aims for our youth work: To be inclusive, creating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, opportunities are given to those who dont readily participate in the arts To value the cultural expression of children and young people Create arts activities for young people of consistent high quality in order to nurture creativity To work with theatre companies, schools, local authorities etc. to create opportunities for children to make enjoy theatre. To be instrumental; enabling the next generation of theatre makers and goers.
