| Recipient Org: Description | Home-Start Bristol (HSB) is an independent family-support charity, managed by local trustees and responsible for its own funding, with a record of 30 years of service in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. It is supported by Home-Start UKs research, advice and training, works within their framework of policies and carries out on-going self-evaluation in relation to the standards of their rigorous QA System. Our mission is to make a lasting and positive impact on the health and welfare of disadvantaged families with at least one child under five. We offer parents the help and friendship of trained, supervised volunteers and intervene early so that difficulties are less likely to escalate to crisis point. Families are referred for support by Health and Social Work professionals, Childrens Centres and specialist agencies, eg debt, drug, alcohol and domestic abuse services. |
