Recipient Org: Description | Penny Brohn UK are the leading UK charity specialising in helping people live well with the impact of cancer. For 36 years, we have pioneered the Bristol Whole Life Approach, which offers physical, psychological and emotional support. Working alongside medical treatment, we offer a range of services to help cancer sufferers, and those who support them, to manage the impact of cancer on their lives and improve their quality of life and overall wellbeing. Our services include: Advice on healthy eating and exercise Self-help techniques to reduce stress and regain a sense of control Physical support through body related therapies Creative therapies to help express feelings Emotional support through counselling, psychotherapy and group work Alongside the UKs only residential cancer care courses, we offer day workshops, one-to-one support from doctors, therapists and counsellors, a volunteer-staffed Helpline, and community support groups at our National centre, based in Pill. We also run outreach clinics in local hospitals and, since 2012, have also been delivering Living Well with the Impact of Cancer courses and follow-up across the country, helping people in their local communities. |
