Recipient Org: Description | Bristol Drugs Project (Bdp) aims to reduce harm, maximise individuals’ potential and promote independence from drugs and alcohol. We deliver services to individuals (adults and children and young people), families and communities affected by drug, alcohol or other addiction at all stages of the complex process of behavioural change Our activities include: • harm reduction initiatives; including needle and syringe programme, a mobile harm reduction service, street outreach work targeting specific groups e.g. street sex workers, experimenters with drugs • motivational programmes, to build capacity and ability to change, • targeted services for children and young people: in schools to prevent substance use; and through mentoring and youth groups to reduce the ‘hidden harm’ of a parent/carer’s drug or alcohol use. • extensive treatment and support services including one of the largest Shared Care opioid substitution treatment programmes, delivered in partnership with GPs, in the UK; |
