Recipient Org: Description | Avonmouth Holiday Play scheme is a play and activity focused inclusive childcare setting that opens 8am – 6pm during the school holidays. Roughly 25 children, aged 4 -12, attend per day; overall it is used by 108 children, including 4 disabled children, and 76 local families throughout the year. We provide structured and free play opportunities. For example, arts and crafts, home corner play, physical games, celebrating different festivals and cultures, water play outside. We have the use of a large hall for children to play in, a kitchen and a dining area. There is a local park next door with play facilities that we use regularly. We employ experienced and qualified staff, are registered with Ofsted and are evaluated by Band which ensures we provide a quality service. We are run by a Voluntary Management Committee comprised of parents/ carers of children in the area. Summer holiday childcare is not available anywhere in the locality for them and these needs provided the drive to set up and maintain their own childcare provision. We aim to promote the children’s self-respect, self-esteem, confidence and positive relationships and are committed to the inclusion of all children within the setting. |
