Recipient Org: Description We promote the educational, physical and emotional development of communities within the ward of Ashley, plus the surroundings wards. Our main activity this year, will take place in The Rose Green Centre. We aim to create opportunities for both communities and young people within the inner city and its surrounding areas, this will be achieved by understanding the communities needs and working with them to create seasonal events that create opportunities such as: sports, music, art, cultural expressions and overall community wellbeing; whilst counteracting such issues as gang culture, ASB, cultural divisions, crime, bridging generation gaps and the lack of positive opportunities available to young people. This has allowed us to implement 6 community events in the last 12 months, that have drawn in over a 1000 community members. Last year we focused our events on Sport, the events took place at Mill Pond School, our events were very successful and we also won an award.
