Recipient Org: Description Carers Support Centre (Bristol and South Gloucestershire) aim is to improve the quality of life of local carers. We are in contact with more than 9,500 local carers. We are also a network partner of Carers Trust, sharing good practice with other carers’ organisations; but we are not funded by them. We have attained Practical Quality Assurance System for Small Organisations (PQASSO) Level Two. We provide flexible support solutions for carers of all ages across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our services include confidential telephone information and advice line, carers’ magazine, carers’ emergency card, one-to-one casework support, carers’ groups, activities for carers to take time out, regular breaks and training courses. We also work with health professionals on a strategic and operational level to identify and support carers in hospital and GP settings through our health team and support carers in paid employment through a dedicated project which is part of a national pilot. We also provide specialist support to specific groups of carers including: young carers, young adult carers, carers of adults with learning disabilities and parent carers. This specialist support means we are able to provide carers with tailored services which are relevant to their situations.
