Recipient Org: Description | Southside aims to ensure that children, young people and adults with multiple and complex difficulties in Bath and North East Somerset access the care and support they need, so their families enjoy the safety, experiences and opportunities they deserve. Southside works with people whose lives have been damaged by violence, abuse and neglect. More than two thirds of those we support have been victims of domestic abuse, causing emotional and mental ill-health, social isolation, homelessness and debt. We provide attachment-based whole family support to meet needs of the children, young people and adults involving: • assessment, multi-agency planning, packages of support which include home-based, therapeutically focused parenting support • domestic violence advice and advocacy for parents • specialist support for young victims • young people led volunteering and advocacy (Young Advocates) • counselling • peer support within community hub groups with children’s play • therapeutic play for children • help to access services to tackle debt, substance abuse, mental health, physical well-being, social support • help to access education and training For over twenty years, Southside has been ‘standing behind’ people when they need us, in a non-judgemental, compassionate and encouraging way. We have deep roots in local communities and are known and trusted. |
