Recipient Org: Description NBCP is a grassroots organisation which was established in 1984. We have 34 years experience of engaging with the most vulnerable, disadvantaged residents in Bristol. We provided Information, Advice, Guidance and Advocacy for homeless people, those with mental health issues and people on benefits. For the past few years the project did not apply for any funding as the previous management did not feel equipped with the expertise to make successful funding applications. Last year a fresh set of Trustees were recruited, we are a team of highly motivated professionals committed to community development. Our management committee and volunteer team consists mainly of semi retired teachers, artists, youth workers, therapists, parents, health professionals and university students. Between us we have the expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to create sustainable projects which respond to local needs. For the past year we have delivered engagement events which consult with our users, asking them to identify what they want to see happening in their community hub. We donate our time on a pro-bono basis because we all passionately share the belief that social inclusion and participation is key in creating a vibrant, healthy, inclusive society.
