Recipient Org: Description St Werburghs City Farm is an inner-city outdoor oasis just 1.5 miles from Bristol city centre. Situated on the border of Ashley and Lockleaze, the Farm is within or near 5 wards that fall within the 10% most disadvantaged in the UK. Since 1980, we have developed services across 4 sites to better meet the needs of disadvantaged residents. Last year, we supported 3,342 service users in 30,000 hours of activities, engaged more than 6,500 people in events/facilities and welcomed more than 53,000 visitors. With a strong reputation for high-quality services, many of our activities run at capacity. Our vision is to inspire and educate happy, healthy communities through green spaces, local food and each other. Using a 2 acre small holding, a 1 acre community garden, a 2.5 acre conservation site and 13 acres of community allotments, our mission is to offer targeted community services that equip people with knowledge, skills and confidence, and provide green sites accessible to all. Our aims are to: increase people's knowledge of where food comes from and access to locally produced food; enhance people's health and wellbeing through greater access to green spaces; and improve the capacity, confidence and cohesion of our community.
