Recipient Org: Description We are Invisible Youth, the Youth and Social Circus wing of Bristol’s Invisible Circus. We have been working with young people at summer camps, schools, community events and adventure playgrounds in Bristol for 6 years now providing open access circus skills and arts workshops. Social Circus is a therapeutic technique using circus arts to build self esteem, perseverance, teamwork, coordination and physical confidence which all serve to augment individual and thus community well being. When time and resources are available some workshops lead to small shows partially devised by the young people as the added challenges of show creation serve to further enhance the above qualities. Our mission statement is:' Invisible Circus Youth and Social Circus Project- Using circus and arts taught by positive role models to engage young people and vulnerable groups'. Our project's home is Felix Road Adventure Playground (FRAP) in Easton where we have delivered free, drop in Social Circus sessions using a wide variety of circus disciplines every term time Sunday since 2012. We use our connection to the Bristol circus circuit to link the se two communites wherever possible, eg taking the young people of FRAP to shows regularly.
