Recipient Org: Description Make a Move is a charity based in Bristol and Bath & North East Somerset which delivers customised ‘movement to music’ projects for people suffering from learning and/or mental health difficulties. Every year, we directly benefit up to 300 vulnerable people including children in schools, mothers with postnatal depression, young adults with learning disabilities and older people suffering from dementia. Our aim is to give people the tools by which they can improve their own lives. We do this by encouraging them to become more active, boosting awareness of the link between body and mind, inspiring laughter and play, and demonstrating how we can overcome social, emotional and mental health difficulties by making choices that guide us towards a happier life. Each project is bespoke to achieve specific outcomes. The use of music and movement is the constant within our projects, but each project is developed with the beneficiaries in mind. We frequently work with local organisations and charities in partnership.
