Money on my mind! (360G-SCVO-a0gb000000QAflXAAT)
As a young information project we currently offer support for young people up to the age of 25 years old, in terms of employment and financial matters. As we have already built up our expertise and knowledge of providing these services to young people, we are looking to expand these opportunities to people over the age of 25 years from throughout the Hamilton area. We will set up a dedicated drop in service for adults (aged 16+), where staff will provide access to information, one-to-one support and to computers/internet to enable them to make informed choices about financial related issues. The Hamilton food bank is based within the same street as us, at 22 Townhead Street. We will run the drop in service at the same times as the food bank is open, in order to target people using the food bank, and from the wider Hamilton area. We will offer information and support on all financial related issues including: benefits, budgeting, debt management, saving etc. We will use a holistic approach to increase participant’s confidence & self-esteem in dealing with financial matters. We will also offer dedicated literacy & numeracy support, so they can brush up their skills and be in a better position to make positive financial decisions. We have built up relationships with a variety of other local organisations over the years and can sign post or make formal referrals for people to organisations that provide additional services to meet their needs e.g. Money Matter, CAB, VASLan.
