Tap to the App (360G-SCVO-a11b000000Ett29AAB)

Music in Hospitals Scotland believe that living in a care home should be a positive experience for people. But for many life in a care home is one of repetition and isolation. Tap to the App will enable older people in care home settings to develop the digital skills to build and share personalised concert programmes and evaluate the live concerts delivered. Skills gained will be navigating an app, email, digital photos and form filling. A part-time project co-ordinator will be employed to engage with residents in the homes and train volunteers. Using tablets the co-ordinator will support individuals to identify music and compile their concert lists and email these for inclusion in the concert. After the concert they will be assisted to complete an online feedback form, such as QuickTapSurvey, which also includes a facility for them to capture photos to include in this. Tap to the App will provide not only the digital skills and confidence, disguised in a fun and practical activity, but a means to reconnect with those around them.
