Improving lives through digital technology – Coatbridge Innovation Project (360G-SCVO-a11b000000NBgaKAAT)

With Charter Fund support we will open a new “come and try” service in Coatbridge, incorporating a demonstration of readily available digital technology which helps people live happy, independent, safe lives in their own homes Members of the Loretto Care team are/will be trained as demonstrators of this technology, forming part of a team of volunteers (Digital Champions). People will be able to book training, delivered by a trained demonstrator, showing and advising them as they try the technology and build their skills in its application and use. Training sessions will be personalised, short (up to 2 hours, often less), focused and specific to individual needs and wants – e.g. people can use their own equipment (e.g. ipads). Return visits will be encouraged This approach has been developed from experience gained through a similar project in the South side of Glasgow (The 415 project), which has delivered training to around 1500 individuals. 98.5% of participants rated the experience excellent or very good.
