Recipient Org: Description Avon and Somerset Constabulary aims to reduce crime, protect the public and uphold the law. We protect the most vulnerable from harm, acting as a fierce advocate for victims and ensuring the most vulnerable are protected. We reduce the impact that anti-social behaviour has in our communities to enable you to live without fear of harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour. This is done by a supported joined up approach to tackling the issues affected in the area. We focus in particular, on reducing risk to the most vulnerable and repeat victims. We prevent and reduce domestic and sexual violence, particularly violence towards women and children, ensure that all victims get the help they need when they need it. We do this by encouraging and enabling reporting, supporting early intervention and improving access to support and services, particularly amongst those most vulnerable to harm. We prevent and reduce burglary and fear of burglary in your area. We aim to reduce crime and improve feelings of safety in communities, with particular focus on domestic and commercial burglary. We tackle the causes of crime and support joined up prevention, enforcement, rehabilitation and criminal justice approaches to youth and adult offending. We aim to Improve road safety for all road users by supporting multi-agency activity to improve safety for all road users in your area, particularly through evidence-led approaches to enforcement, education and road engineering. Ensure victims are at the heart of the criminal justice system it very important. We do this by developing an integrated approach to victim services that has the voice of victims at its heart. .
