Recipient Org: Description | We are the Friends of Berrow Beach and are seeking support in the form of a one off donation to buy desperately needed beach cleaning equipment. This is required to help equip our large team of enthusiastic volunteers, who will be doing their best to keep Berrow Beach clear of rubbish all year long, but especially before the coming summer season. We are a local community group that was recently formed with the encouragement and support of Litter Free Coast and Sea / Somerset (http://www.litterfreecoastandsea.co.uk/somerset/) and will meet regularly (dependent on conditions) to collect litter that has accumulated along the beach. We consider that this will not only benefit the local environment and the local population, but tourists and holiday makers as well. We envisage the project could eventually develop into a vehicle for wider use in the community with community cleans. |
