Recipient Org: Description PLOT 22 is a place to be together with the land in community. We aim to: - Nurture community by creating opportunities for people from all walks of life to grow, cook and eat fresh food together outdoors. - Create a safe space for relationships with each other and the land to grow and develop over time. - Encourage and celebrate everyone’s contribution to PLOT 22. - Practice an ethos of kindness with each other, the land and the non-human inhabitants of PLOT 22. - Reduce barriers to community activities faced by people who may be marginalised or vulnerable. - Model simple ways of conserving our natural resources. - Inspire learning and creative skills sharing. - Operate in the spirit of transparency, collaboration and fairness. We do this by hosting: 1) Regular gardening sessions that include cooking and sharing a meal: - Friends of PLOT 22 – cross-generational, family friendly sessions for more than 50 local residents. - Lady Garden – for adult women - Grow & Play – for parents and pre-school children, in particular those from the Conway and Hangleton areas. 2) Facilitated therapeutic horticulture: - Thyme & Space – for women aged 16 + who’ve experienced sexual violence in partnership with The Survivors' Network. - Dementia Inclusive Gardening – for people living with dementia and their carers/befrienders. - External providers e.g. Touchbase hire our site to deliver sessions. 3) Circle meetings/peer learning: Monthly meetings (attended by all Project Leads for the above projects) to pool learning, share ideas, responsibilities and agree actions. We want to continue to nurture more long-term volunteers, their ambitions and their development by: - creating more opportunities and coaching volunteers to step into responsibility, skills sharing and leadership. - offering access to training and skills development through our network of community partners.
